2011 Annual Giving Donors

NRLD is offering free classes for children of all ages over the Christmas Break!
Champaign & Urbana Libraries Changes
Champaign Public Library and Urbana Free Library have chosen to separate from the shared catalog that most public libraries use through Lincoln Trails. This change will impact some NRLD patrons who use those libraries as described here.

New Job Search Help @ NRLD
Need help writing a resume? Want advice on what jobs you might be qualified for? Would a practice interview help you be better prepared? Newman Regional Library District now offers JobNow, a subscription service that will do all that and more for you from a library computer or your home.
Digital Divide Grant Opens Library More Hours
Newman Regional Library District is one of forty-one libraries in Illinois to receive a Digital Divide grant from the Illinois State Library and Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
Youth Volunteers
Students entering 7th grade through age 16 are invited to be our knights in shining armor this summer.
Grade School Programs
Because the City of Newman will not be offering the Summer Rec program this year, we have expanded our offerings for these children. The programs will meet twice a week, for two hours each time for 8 weeks.
Royal Challenges
Complete these challenges to earn extra book bucks and to be crowned a King or Queen!
National Library Week @ NRLD
There is something for everyone from April 10-16. Be sure you stop by the library this week for one or more of the activities!
E-Reader Pre-Loaded with Books
Readers now have a choice of a new selection of books that the library has purchased for the E-Reader. When you check out the reader you automatically get the books. Or you can still select your own from MyMediaMall and we will put it on the reader for you.
Passwords to subscription sites now on-line
If you have wanted to use our subscription databases from home, but didn't have the password, your troubles are now over!
ConsumerReportsHealth.org
NRLD patrons now have free access to this new resource about all things related to your health. All patrons can access the site with the library's password for free. Contact the library to get the password.
Holiday House Walk
Six beautiful homes spanning a century will open their doors to ticket-holders to benefit the library.
Changed Passwords on Library Subscriptions Websites
As of 9/24/09, we changed the passwords for Ancestry.com, ConsumerReports and NoveList. Contact library by calling, emailing, or use the meebo screen on the right of this page to get the new passwords.
100+ New Children's Books @ NRLD
The Wii raffle last year raised money to secure a matching grant from the Libri Foundation and to purchase additional books that are now available at the library!
Memorial Donations to Library
Friends and family members of local residents have donated money to purchase items for the library in memory of their loved ones. This list covers items for 2008.
